What is this site? Birdsforbulbs.com is a small environmental/energy-saving initiative that was active for a few years (thanks to so many wonderful participants!). The site's team has moved on to other projects, but you can still enjoy the birds.

Compact fluorescent bulbs, or CFLs, cut harmful emissions, which helps the environment, which contains birds. Which we like. CFLs can make a surprisingly big difference. When this site was active, if you switched one or more of your light bulbs to a CFL, LED or another better bulb and sent us an email about it with your name and location (as you want them to appear on this site), we drew you a bird.

Who we are Rosemary Mosco
Rosemary came up with the idea for the site, and drew all the birds.

Rosemary looks at birds a lot. She made comics and stories and would reduce atmospheric CO2 with her bare hands, if only she had magic hands.

Parrish Ziganian
Parrish has magic hands. He built the site, and he used to do the final art touchups and manage emails back when Rosemary had messed-up hands.

Parrish looks at lots of things. Occasionally these things are birds. Also, he draws, animates, and codes sometimes. He types only in Dvorak, which drives everyone who ever shares a computer with him batty.

Thank you to our donors!! Sometimes people email us and offer to help pay for the site hosting. We can't thank you enough.

Neale McDavitt of Montreal donated towards site hosting.

Sam of Ottawa also donated towards site hosting.

Jane Kilthei of BC bought carbon offsets for the site through The Pembina Institute.

Jason Eppink, creator of amazing things, made a lovely Birds for Bulbs flipbook.
